KOH WEI JIE
Wei Jie obtained his LLB (Hons) Degree (Second Upper Class) from the University of Liverpool in 2016. Thereafter, he passed his CLP examination and was called to the bar on 22 February 2019 as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
Wei Jie was actively involved in probono legal activities during his student days. Among others, he participated as a Student Advisor of the Liverpool Law Clinic and was tasked to provide free legal advice to the local community. At the same time, he was also chosen to be the Representative of all Student Advisors of the clinic.
After coming back to Malaysia, Wei Jie enrolled for the CLP examination and at the same time, attached with Messrs. Raslan Loong, Shen & Eow, under the renowned Mr Eow Khean Fatt as an attachment student. After passing the examination, Wei Jie commenced his chambering at Messrs. Joseph Chambers.
The attachment and chambering experience had allowed Wei Jie to be exposed and developed interest in the field of intellectual property law. He was tasked to work on, among others, franchise registration, trade mark enforcement raids, managing intellectual property portfolios for local and foreign clients, enforcement for intellectual property infringements, and assisted in a passing-off litigation case.
After being called to the bar, Wei Jie joined Messrs. Ng, Arlene Tan & Leong, as a junior legal associate. He worked together with Dr Leong to widen and deepen his experience in the practice of intellectual property law.
